Your Experience

Not everyone is familiar with choral concerts and we want to make sure you feel comfortable when you attend the concerts. We care a lot about growing our audience and making sure people who are newer to choral music have a great experience, so ultimately, you come back again. Below we have answered some of the more frequently asked questions. Feel free to contact us with any questions. This is not an old-fashioned choir and we want to make sure you enjoy your experience!

Can children attend?

We love to open up children to the beauty of classical and choral music, we also know it can be difficult for some children to quietly sit still through an entire concert. Please bear in mind the age, temperment and maturity level of your child(ren).

When should I arrive?

We suggest you plan to be at the concert venue at least 15-20 minutes before the performance begins. This extra time will allow for:

• Enjoy the aesthetics
• Use of the restrooms
• Obtaining your seat(s)
• Review the concert program
• Silencing your cell phone(s)
• Socializing 
• Social Media Check-ins

…and do anything else you might like to do before the lights go down and the concert starts.

This buffer time does not include the time it takes to park. Please allow for another 10-15 minutes to find a spot in the parking structure and walk to the venue. Parking varies from venue to venue.

If you will be picking up your tickets at the door/will-call, give yourself a few extra minutes as well.

Parking

In addition to your arrival time, please allow enough time for parking and walking to the venue if you’ve parked further away. Parking accommodations varies from venue to venue.

How long will the concert last?

Our concerts typically range between 1.5 to 2 hours. Usually, the first half will last about 30-45 minutes, then we will have an intermission of 15-20 minutes, and then the second half will be approximately the same length as the first half. 

Is there a dress code?

No. Please dress in a way that is comfortable for you – casual, business casual, or dressing up – there’s no wrong way… and don’t worry, you won’t be alone.

Scents/Fragrances

If you enjoy wearing cologne and perfume, please note that you will be sitting in close proximity to others and many people (including our singers) are sensitive to strong fragrances, so go lightly on your choice of scent.

Can I bring food or beverages?

Cough lozenges and water are permitted during the concert performances. Following certain performances we provide a meet-and-great where you can eat, drink and socialize.

Are cell phones allowed?

Absolutely. Feel free to take selfies and “check-in” on social media before and/or after the concert. We simply ask that you make sure your phone is on silent once the performance starts – out of consideration for the performers and other audience members.

When should I applaud?

Usually, you will want to wait for the end of the piece to applaud – but we know it can be confusing sometimes whether a piece has truly ended or not. Just watch the conductor’s hands if you’re not sure: He will put his hands down when the piece is finally over. Sometimes we want to let the audience savor the last moments of a piece before breaking the mood with applause – so just take your cue from the hands of our conductor. If we are planning to do a couple of pieces in a row without a break, our conductor will tell you that ahead of time.
