Luis González is a versatile musician whose dynamic career spans opera, musical theater, choral, and symphonic repertoire. As a conductor, music educator, and baritone soloist, he has performed across the United States and abroad, collaborating with institutions such as the New York Philharmonic, Sarasota Orchestra, Crested Butte Music Festival, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Grace Cathedral (SF), Opera Tampa, and Opera San José.

Luis has held leadership roles with several esteemed organizations, including five seasons as Associate Conductor and Language Coach for Choral Artists of Sarasota, where he prepared a wide array of choral masterworks and conducted Brahms’ Liebesliederwalzer and excerpts from Sondheim’s Into the Woods. He has also served in various Guest Conductor, Assistant Conductor and Chorus Master positions for Grace Cathedral (SF), Mt. Diablo Unitarian Universalist Church, Opera Tampa, St. Petersburg Opera, Savannah VOICE Festival and Shorecrest Preparatory School.

A Bay Area native, Luis holds degrees in Vocal Performance from San José State University and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, with additional training in opera young artist programs such as Sherrill Millnes’ VOICExperience and the American Institute Musical Studies (Graz, Austria). In addition to his work with Diablo Choral Artists, Luis maintains private vocal studios in San Francisco and Walnut Creek, where he prepares students of all ages for auditions, competitions, as well as professional and other singing engagements.
